A slice of Princess Diana's wedding cake kept for 27 years in servant's attic reaps £1200

The age old question doe you save the top of the wedding cake and eat it on your year anniversary?
I say ...No! How silly to eat any thing that is a year old!
Order a 6 inch cake from your baker and have a get together with your bridal party and or parents.

Inspiration ....Vintage Postcards

My bride Molly found a collection of vintage postcards to use as her inspiration for her invitation. Molly's father recreated this charmimng bundle of cards for her guests. "It was lot of work" said her mother... but so worth it.

Greetings from Jamestown!

Astors' Beechwood Mansion - gives way to Vincent Astor townhouse in New York City

When bride Kamil Fulwood called me to help her plan a Newport wedding, Unfortunately the budget allocated just couldn’t make it a possibility. With a guest list of 50, I thought, she could have a Newport society style wedding in New York City. One of the private clubs on the Upper East Side would be the perfect solution for her. Kamli joyful expressed “Im a member of the New York Jr League!” Perfect! I said. So her Astor mansion wedding was booked in the form of an elegant high tea in Mr Vincent Astor's private town house. Highlights from the wedding are here at http://newportweddings.blogspot.com/2009/06/newport-affaire-in-city-of-new-york.html

What side does the bride go on?

The bride always stands on the left. The bride's side of the church is always the left side as well. This goes way back to Medieval times when the bride stood on the groom's left so that he could draw his sword or in this case golf club, which he wore on his right side, Just in case to protect her from enemies.
Please note this groom is a lefty!
